VersaCold promotes Customer Service globally with Vubiz e-learning

VersaCold is a global storage company that operates more than 120 modern, temperature-controlled warehouses and distribution centers across Canada, the United States, Argentina, New Zealand and Australia. VersaCold has the largest integrated cold storage network in the world and can service virtually any aspect of temperature-controlled food handling and logistical needs. Their position as an industry leader is attributable to their integrated network, their distribution and logistics expertise, and a solid reputation for reliability and service, reinforced in their training. (In 2006, Eimskipafelag, an Icelandic firm then known as Avion Group, bought Atlas Cold Storage. In 2007, Eimskipafelag purchased VersaCold.)

To emphasize their commitment to customer service, VersaCold approached Vubiz to discuss off-the-shelf content, vuBuild (our self-authoring service/training development tool) and our Learning Management System. VersaCold chose 11 modules in customer service from Vubiz’s library, and then purchased vuBuild so they could modify the content to meet their specific needs. Last year, VersaCold bought more content in Health & Safety including Health & Safety for Managers and Health and Safety Committees and Accident Investigation.

Buying a course “off-the-shelf” and then customizing or altering it allows you to create your own custom content more cost effectively. And you don’t need to be a web designer or Flash developer to do it. vuBuild is a web-based content authoring service that cuts development time, allowing trainers and educators to produce cost effective, dynamic, engaging and instructionally sound e-learning. vuBuild allows collaborative efforts on projects by people who may be separated geographically – in the next office or on the other side of the world.

The online courses are deployed on Vubiz’s LMS and hosted via Vubiz servers. This works simply and seamlessly. The VersaCold learners access their e-learning site via a link on their intranet system. User data is passed automatically to the Vubiz LMS, allowing “authorized” learners to seamlessly access content without having to register. This automated process keeps all user information current and consistent with the company’s HRIS system. The LMS also tracks their employees’ learning progress as a way to report progress to the organization.
